That's not good for a publication that aims for high production values, since a good part of its readership is extremely sensitive to such issues. We care little nice page layout (which is expensive to produce in terms of manpower) , but the variable <I>p</I> should be typeset in the same typeface both inline and in displays (and in figures, for that matter), a challenge that is close to the heart of many computer scientists (a propos Knuth's recent birthday) and demonstrably solvable by software.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
