Scene at the German Consulate:
A big guy with a clear Russian/Slavic accent was arguing with the visa officer. She wanted two photographs: he only had one, and insisted that the German consulate web site mentioned only one (it says "two"). A few minutes into this argument, he reaches into his pocket and whips out a CD, and points to the picture on the front.
"That's me", he says. "I am an opera singer, and this is my CD. I was just in Carnegie Hall for a recital, and I am returning to Kiev. You can even read my biography on the liner notes. I'm singing Schubert in this CD. Schubert is German".
A few minutes later, he walks out with a satisfied look on his face.
